This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Michael (Mike) Leitaker who was  born  in Sacramento, Ca. on September 05, 1973 and passed away on April 19, 2005 at the age of 31 of a blood clot 19 days after open heart surgery to replace his aorta valve..Michael was so happy to get thru his surgery and he healed  fast and came home early.  17 days later at home he started having pains in his left arm and after  two days in the hospital he couldn't handle the pain anymore and his heart just stopped..We found out after the autopsy it was a blood clot. We will remember our very special son in our hearts forever.

Michael is survived by his devoted parents Troy and Cathy Hood of  Rio Linda, Ca.

 He is also survived by his wife of 11 years, Tahrea Leitaker. His three incredible children, Tristan Michael (9) Tatum Nicole(6) and Hailey Riann (4), brother Aaron Leitaker and favorite niece Maci Tyler Leitaker of Elverta Ca.,  brother
Jared Leitaker of Fair Oaks Ca., sister Lindsay Leitaker of Davis Ca.
Maternal grandmother Mary Nelson of Rio Linda, Paternal
grandparents Paul and Louise Leitaker of Loma Rico, Ca. Great-grandmothers Lorine Little and Eva Nelson of Sacramento Ca.,  uncles Darrell Nelson and wife Sandra of Rio Linda Ca., Douglas Nelson and wife Dina Rae of Sacramento Ca., Dennis Nelson and wife Susan of Elk Grove Ca.Michael is also survived his devoted sister-in-law Desiree Carter and her son David. His best friends James Eddy and wife Kari from Canoga Park Ca., Tom Silver and  wife Shannon from Rancho Cordova, Ca., Steve Espinosa from Biloxi, Ms., Brandon Pivin from Shasta Co.Ca., and Greg Fountain and wife Loreili of Rio Linda. Also survived and missed by numerous extended family members cousins and friends.
Michael is pre-ceded in death by his devoted grandfather Carl R. Nelson,  Great-grandfather Francis Marion Nelson( Nellie), and Louis Sonsbarry Little, Great-grandparents Archie and Lucille Leitaker of Woodland Ca., Claude and Cora Mcgee from Rio Linda Ca.
